Café Sua Da is extremely a Vietnam drink. Southern men, especially Saigonese, sip Café Sua Da or Café Da (without milk) almost every morning before work.
Morning Café and news- papers in the morning has been turning into a part of Saigon lifestyle.
To me, coffee awakes my morning mind with Zen ethos. Like ones, I sip the coffee little by little.
Café Sua Da is more tasty and enjoyable when served at nice places, right person, certainly, in the morning. Best sites in Vietnam for early morning coffee: Daklak, Dalat, Kontum, Khe Sanh and Hanoi.
The most easy recipe is from Steamy Kitchen. I edited a little bit with folks sense and experience.
P.S I enclosed the best coffee song ever in Vietnam (Composer. Nguyen Cuong. Signer. Siu Black)
The song for love and coffee from Buon Ma Thuot, the best Vietnam’s coffee town.
” Ly Cafe Ban Me”
Enjoy Café Sua Da,
Vietnamese Iced Coffee
1) Get fine ground coffee which would fall right through the little holes of the coffee press. Trung Nguyen coffee from Vietnam is now popular at Asian market.
2) Sweetened condensed milk: It’s the sweet, sticky, thick stuff
3) Vietnamese coffee press ( phin café)
4) 2 glasses: one filled to the brim with ice.
7 Steps for Vietnamese Cafe Sua Da
The longer it takes, the stronger the coffee. Notice that there are only a few drops per second. If the coffee is dripping too fast, then use a small spoon or tip of knife to screw the press on tighter, 1 turn clockwise. Or if it’s dripping too slow, unscrew 1 turn counter-clockwise.
Need another glass, come to see me in Danang,Vietnam
